Hear every sentence twice.

FluentWeave is an audiobook player for people learning a language. Every sentence plays in the language you know, then immediately in the one you’re learning — so you hear the meaning before you hear the words.

Coming to iPhone and iPad. Currently in invitation-only TestFlight beta.

One sentence from Good Stone, in English then Spanish — the real narration.

You already know how to listen to a story

There is nothing to drill and nothing to score. You pick a book and press play.

EN Eleven years away, and the walk from the port had not changed.
ES Once años fuera, y el camino desde el puerto no había cambiado.

…then the next sentence, and the next. You set the order, and each language keeps its own speed — hold your own at normal pace and slow the one you’re learning.

1

Choose a story

Original novels written for learners, not textbook dialogues. Download once and they play offline.

2

Listen in both languages

Each sentence plays in your language, then the one you’re learning. The text on screen follows the voice, sentence by sentence.

3

Make it harder as you go

Drop your own language when you stop needing it. Add a silent gap to say the sentence aloud yourself.

The chapter map, showing each chapter's length, which are finished, and how far through the book you are.

Made for the commute

The player is built for listening while you are doing something else.

It picks up where you stopped

Down to the sentence, not the nearest minute.

Skips move by sentence

Not by fifteen seconds. Miss one and you can hear exactly that one again.

Driver Mode

Connect to a car you’ve confirmed and the screen becomes large, high-contrast controls. Tap anywhere to play or pause.

Five languages, any pair

Every story exists in all five. There is no English-only catalogue — a native Spanish speaker learning French gets the same library as anyone else.

English Spanish French Italian Brazilian Portuguese

The stories

Original novels, each built around a subject worth having words for.

How our books are made

FluentWeave books are original stories, written with the help of artificial intelligence. Before a book is released, a human editor reads and edits it in full.

The translations and audio are AI-produced.

Questions

What does it cost?

In the United States, FluentWeave is $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year — the annual plan works out at about $4.17 a month. New subscribers get a one-week free trial. Prices vary by country, and the App Store charges in your local currency. You can manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Download a book once and it plays with no connection — on a plane, on the underground, anywhere. Downloads include the audio for the languages you use.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad, on iOS 17 or later. Playback continues with the screen locked, and over Bluetooth or car audio.

Do I need to read, or can I just listen?

Either. The text follows the narration sentence by sentence if you want it, and the player works perfectly well in your pocket if you don’t.

Is this for beginners?

Not yet. Today’s catalogue runs from Lower Intermediate to Upper Intermediate — it suits someone who has some grammar and wants volume, not someone starting from their first words.
